"My car was overheating and needed a replacement of the thermostat and the water pump, AND the wheel bearings were worn out. All of this was going to cost OVER R34,000. Luckily I had a warranty with Bidvest Insurance and all those items were covered in full. I would definitely recommend Bidvest Insurance to my friends and family."

Mechanical Warranty Questions, Answered

What does a Bidvest Mechanical Warranty cover?
Mechanical and electrical breakdown of covered components, including labour — the failures that aren't cheap. Wear-and-tear and service items (brakes, clutch, tyres, batteries, filters, spark plugs) aren't covered, and neither is pre-existing damage.
Is my car too old or too high-mileage to qualify?
No. There's no vehicle age restriction, and both new and used cars are eligible, as long as the car is roadworthy and registered in South Africa. Age and mileage affect your premium, not whether you qualify.
What does it cost?
Cover starts from R299 per month. Your premium is calculated on your vehicle's model, age, and mileage, so the quote gives you a figure for your car.
Can I take this if I still have a manufacturer warranty?
Yes. Cover applies in or out of your manufacturer warranty — useful for picking up where the factory cover stops.
Is there a waiting period?
A 30-day waiting period applies from your 2nd premium collected. Claims can't be submitted during that window.
What happens after I get a quote?
We call you with cover options matched to your vehicle. No obligation to take it.
